Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra Pricing: Will It Be More Expensive Than the S24 Ultra?
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to launch soon, but reports suggest it may be priced higher than its predecessor, the S24 Ultra. Learn about the possible price hike and how it compares to the iPhone 16 Pro Max.
In India, Samsung previously reduced the S24 Ultra's price after the iPhone 16 Pro launched.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to be the next flagship phone from Samsung. It will launch alongside the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Plus. While big improvements are expected for the S25 Ultra, there could be a price hike.
The bill of materials (BOM) for the S25 Ultra is expected to be $110 (₹9,200) more than the Galaxy S24 Ultra. This means it will cost Samsung more to make the S25 Ultra. As a result, the retail price could be higher.
Currently, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is priced at ₹1,29,999. If the price increases, the S25 Ultra could cost as much as the iPhone 16 Pro Max.
However, Samsung may not raise the price of the S25 Ultra in China. The base model in China could be priced the same as the S24 Ultra, at CNY 9,699.
Other reports suggest that Samsung may keep the pricing for the S25 series the same. This is because Apple kept the pricing for the iPhone 16 unchanged. According to these reports, the Galaxy S25 base model could start at $799. The S25 Plus may be priced at $999, and the S25 Ultra could start at $1,299.
In India, Samsung previously reduced the S24 Ultra's price after the iPhone 16 Pro launched. The price cut helped Samsung capture more Apple users. It’s unclear whether Samsung will follow the same strategy for the S25 Ultra.
Currently, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is priced ₹10,000 more than the iPhone 16 Pro, which costs ₹1,19,900 in India. However, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is often available at a lower price during sales. This could affect the S25 Ultra's pricing.
We will have to wait and see whether Samsung increases the price of the Galaxy S25 Ultra or keeps it the same in different markets.
